Celery: Nature’s Cooling Green for Digestion and Balance
Celery, known for its naturally cooling energy, is a green vegetable that works wonders for heat and inflammation in the body. It provides excellent support for the stomach, especially in conditions of internal heat, and helps improve digestion. Celery also assists in reducing dampness, promoting the elimination of excess fluids and toxins.
In the Five Elements system, the Stomach and Spleen are “sibling” meridians connected to the Earth Element, which governs thought and intellectual processes. Excess dampness can slow mental clarity, much like walking through wet, sticky soil—progress feels heavy and difficult. Celery is one of many vegetables that help dry excess dampness while nourishing the body, and it’s delicious too!
