The thyroid is a gland in the endocrine system. It is composed of two lobes that resemble the shape of a butterfly, located on either side of the trachea, connected in the middle by the isthmus. The gland is situated just below what is commonly known as the Adam’s apple and has a reddish-brown color, rich in blood vessels.

When the thyroid functions healthily, it produces hormones that regulate essential functions such as metabolism, body temperature, and the operation of other systems in the body. Thyroid hormones influence nearly all tissues in the body and are necessary for the synthesis of many proteins essential for growth stages.

In recent years, there has been an increase in various thyroid-related health conditions. In upcoming editions, we will discuss the most common conditions and how natural medicine can help.
